Pink chain snakes prefer to live in plains or hills and were included in 2000 in the List of Land-based Wild Animals under State Protection that are useful or of significant economic and scientific value.

Pink chain snakes belong to our unique species, mainly located in the five-fingered mountains of Hainan Island and in the Hanglo mountains. Pink chain snakes are very aggressive and enjoy night activities, but there are records of artificial breeding.
Concertation snakes are about 1 metre long, black and brown on the back, 28-35+19-13 pink crosses on the torso, with a pink to “V” mark on the back of the neck; abdominal ash, with three quarters of them scattered in black and brown spots, with a large black and brown tail, 颊鳞1, 颊鳞1 and small, with individual specimens awakening; a behead, 1 and 2; and 颞鳞2(1) +3 (2); and upper lip, 8, 2-3-3 and each side, 3-2-3. 19-19-15 (17) rows, centre 3-9 lines slightly elastic; abdominal 218-234; anal integrity; and bottom 80-92. Powder chain snakes, of approximately 1 metre long, are Chinese-specific species and were included in the List of Land-based Wild Animals of Nationally Protected or Economic and Scientific Research Values in 2000.
The powder chain snakes, which are mainly located on the island of Hainan, in the province of Hainan, live in mountainous plains, along river streams or near paddy fields, and live at altitudes ranging from 80 to 580 metres. The powder chain snakes eat normally at 15°C and are sexually aggressive, especially during the rainy night; they hide in their nests during the day, move at night and feed on frogs (principal tree frogs, swamp frogs, frogs, frogs without tigers), which are observed under rearing conditions.
