According to the 2019 White Paper on the Chinese pets industry, pet misconduct has become a major problem for pets, and such issues as “paternity affects the home environment”, “paternity barking”, “petty defecation”, “petty breaking, biteting” are on the list.
Icy was also troubled by his dog bites. Until 2013, she became a pet behaviour adjuster.
She found that the bad behaviour of dogs was not a problem of dogs but of master education. Instead of adjusting the dog's behavior, she's adjusting human behavior.
Eight years in her profession, she helped many masters and dogs to “get back together” and under her guidance, many of the pets that went from “brother child” to “good boy” and, of course, she also met irresponsible masters, poor dogs, and poor companions...
What exactly is behavioral adjustment? Which pets need behavioral adjustments? What's the right way to raise a pet?

The biggest respect for dogs is the way they look at them.
I'm a pet behaviour adjuster, a teacher specializing in dog behavior.
In China, some trainers who do not change the behaviour of pets also refer to themselves as “paternity trainers”. A few years ago someone in the country started studying pet behaviour, changing the trainer's title.
However, in the field of specialization abroad, the division of jobs is very clear. For example, if a dog has a biting problem, the trainer can't help you with it, and you have to find a behaviorian or a behavioural adjuster.
In addition to adjusting to dog behaviour, there are also adjusting to cat behaviour. But in principle, cats are not like dogs, they're semi-deployed animals. The average cat adjuster adjusts from the environment in which the cat lives, because the cat has problems, mostly caused by humans, the environment and genes, and it is difficult to adjust through so-called training.

My job is to help the masters solve, adjust their problems and the problems with the dogs.
Dog behaviour can be influenced by a variety of factors, such as dog species, the external environment and related human factors. Dogs have the same mind as children around the age of three, so their relationship with the master is more like that of parents and children. - Children depend on their parents, who protect and supervise them, but most owners do not.
There's an interesting phenomenon. The dogs with Grandpa and Grandma are good. Because they have no emotions, and they don't influence dogs with emotions. And they have a lot of time, they take dogs out for a walk every day, and they interact with dogs, so the satisfaction of dogs with their grandparents is completely different from that of their staff.
Working dogs are more vulnerable to problematic behaviour, a state of expression associated with their attachment to human beings, as some of their basic needs are not met.
We're adjusting people, not dogs, because some problems are not dogs at all, but people.
Most masters are particularly fond of “humanizing” dogs, but the biggest respect for dogs and one of the best ways for dogs is to look at them as dogs, and if you look at them as humans, it's not normal.
For example, your dog eats shit, and you can't take it intuitively, and you're like, "Whatever you want to eat." But in the dog's sex form, there was this behavior-- In the course of feeding, some herbivores are fed to help with intestinal digestion. They can smell unindigent proteins in urine, so they feel like proteins.
If the master himself can't accept the dog's behavior, there will always be conflict between them, so I'm going to convince the master that her dog's behavior is perfectly normal. If the master doesn't like it very much, then he can oversee it.
Why in the end would a dog eat shit while walking? It's impossible for a dog to untie the rope behind his master's back.

I've had dogs at home since I was four. I've been with dogs since I was a kid.
On my 12th birthday, my father gave me a dog, but later the dog had a bit of trouble, and he liked to bite. At that time, I was still young, and at the end of the 1990s there was no so-called behavioural training, behavioural adjustment, except for pet doctors, veterinarians or “dog trainers” from traditional forces. The answer they gave me was "the dog is dead" and they told Dad to send the dog away or die.
This matter has planted a seed in my heart and has become a particularly great regret in my heart. I raised it, but I didn't help it when it had problems.
When I was in high school, I told Dad I wanted to be a veterinarian, I wanted to be a pet-related trade, but he didn't agree. As a typical Chinese parent, my dad wanted me to study business -- one of the best professions he had in those days.
I couldn't force myself to go to a university in Denmark to study business.
Being alone in a foreign country was really lonely, and I was thinking about home, and I bought a Labrador in Denmark.
It took me a while to realize that there were complete laws for the protection of animals in Denmark, laws for dogs. They are very advanced in the concept of pet training and raising, for example, before raising a puppy, the government offers free classes such as a puppy class or a pups class. With the growth of dogs, the community will continue to provide free courses.
I didn't think I'd need the master to take the dog with me abroad. For example, the puppy class abroad teaches the master and the dog how to guide their dog.
Because what I've been exposed to before is a dog beating and scolding, a dog beating him up, a dog beating him up, a dog feeding him, a sick dog taking him to the hospital, a problem sending him to a traditional trainer for foster training. Foster training is said to be more obscurantist, for example, so that dogs learn to shake hands, go to the toilet and lie down.
And I found that Danish dogs interact differently from our Chinese dogs. The dog community in Denmark does not let the rope go and the dog runs there, but the owner takes the rope and asks each other politely and then goes to the forest and explores it.
All of these discoveries have been toppled the idea that I love.

After college, I went home to get a job, but I wasn't interested. I told my dad I did what he wanted me to do, and I learned what I wanted me to do, and then I wanted to do what I liked.
At that time, only universities abroad had so-called canine behavior. The requirements for undergraduate studies in these professions are limited, for example, they must be medical, behavioural, biological or veterinary.
So I went to a number of institutions specifically designed for trainers, which have no limits and are able to participate with enough love.
The general trainers ' courses begin with the most basic elements.
My first training course was with a British teacher, who was brought home for a full month, both theoretical and practical. Theoreticals will share with us many of the things he's touched on in training and some of the most basic trainings; practical exercises are the things we take the dogs personally and understand in the course of our operation.
To put it simply, this month is a month for those who are not trainers to develop some muscle memories in the short term, to know how to do some of the most basic things, to know how to see the dog's state, to know how to apply some of the theoretical knowledge we have learned.
Training itself is not a static thing. I've taken a dog dance course, and I think it's not going to work, and it's not going to be easy for the master -- it's going to take the dog with the master every week, it's going to teach the dog, it's going to do it one by one, and then it's going to do it one by one.
I have never conducted such a course, and I have always had a principle — that dogs and masters are happy and can live happily and harmoniously together. I wouldn't do anything to make the master happy if I did something to hurt the dog. But it's only when I go to this class that I know it's good and bad.
The training of pets has different directions and affiliations.
I'm trained to do the right thing, the right thing to do, the right thing to do, not to do the wrong thing. But there are also different factions below the larger section of the concept, some focusing on dog feedback, some on dog state, and some on the ability to release pressure on dogs.
I know basically all the factions abroad. If I want to help the dog and the master better, I have a duty to learn about different subjects, to look carefully at how much knowledge there is in the world and what's right for me to teach the master and the dog.
Of course, there are contradictions between the different factions, depending on the trainers ' own choices.
After training, we can go to the internship. If you're willing to take it or not, it's okay. There's no regulation in this industry, and you think your skills or the knowledge you're out of science have reached the point where you can charge for it.
In 2013, I've been giving my dog “care” free of charge as a trainer. It was only in the summer of 2014 that I started to charge fees for classes with the owner and the pet.

Most of the initial courses were for dogs, and I had one-on-one, one-on-one classes and worked with other trainers. Many masters bring dogs to class, and we teach them basic things like how to get them back when they're not around, or how to get them to walk around.
But if behavioural adjustments are involved, they can only go on one-on-one because each dog has different behavioural problems.
The timing of a pet ' s behaviour adjustment often depends on the degree of cooperation of the owner and how long the dog ' s behaviour has erupted. If the dog had just behaved, the master would soon realize that the behavioural problem could be resolved quickly. Some doggies need only one lesson to be fine-tuned, such as changing their surroundings and giving them toys.
If a dog had been barking for four or five years and had to go up and fight whenever he saw another dog, the adjustment would have been long. We usually charge class hours, but attack dogs tend to charge higher, because when dogs attack people, trainers are at risk.
When it started, since there were no pups classes in China, most of the dogs sent were dogs with behavioural problems or whose owners were not satisfied with it, and they had problems with rushing, barking, or dropping the ropes on them.
However, many masters agree with the idea of “dogs fighting if they aren't good”, and when a dog does something, it drags it or scares it to stop it. I don't think the dog can take it.
What you don't know is that dogs have a clear understanding of fear and intimacy. There's no trust between the owner and the dog if it's more violent. It's not like parents and kids say, "I hit you for your own good," because you can't explain it to dogs, they don't understand, they just look at your behavior -- if you hit it, it'll feel terrible.
As a pro-active trainer, I want people to live together with dogs, and dogs to be taught in a more positive way.
When you have a different species, at least you have to understand the nature of the species and measure your ability to satisfy it in life. If a dog is unable to meet even the most basic needs, problems will certainly arise.
Some dogs, for example, have problems with pistachio. It's because they want to get close to the master's face when they're excited, and most of the masters are used to touching it when they jump, which makes the dog think that his behaviour is accepted and accepted, so it gets worse.
The right thing to do is -- when the dog comes to the master, the master hides and says to the dog that he doesn't interact. And grab the dog to the ground and reward it so that the dog knows you don't like it hitting you.
It's often the mood and state of the master that affects the dog.

At the beginning of this business, there were not many clients. In recent years, 90 years have passed since the rise of our guest base.
When I began to teach after 90 years, I found that 90 years later was a generation that was particularly willing to learn, to believe in science, to believe in knowledge, and to work hard and to bear the consequences of something that it did for itself.
I met a very good host. At first it was clear to me that she didn't believe me, but I couldn't help it. If her dog's problem is not solved, she can't go out.
The dog's nose is extraordinary, and it can smell if we have cancer cells, if adrenaline has changed, if dopamine has changed, and they can feel our emotions clearly.
When the master leaves, there will be an anxiety hormone distributed and the dog will be drawn from his limbs to the distance from others, and he will continue to convey to the dog: “There are no good people outside, no good things”. The dog naturally feels, "If the outside is good, why would my master be?"
So her two dogs of a completely different character would have shown the opposite. The brave one thinks, “I want to protect the master, I should take care of everything”, goes out and barks at everything; the timid one thinks, “It's horrible out there, I don't want to go out”.
I learned later that the master had some unpleasant experiences of childhood. Her father disappeared after her parents divorced, and her mother and subsequent father were not very nice to her, which also led to her being untrustworthy and hostile. That's why she has dogs, because she thinks dogs are more simple.
After I knew that, I started talking to her.
She cannot be said at first that the dog is her influence, because in most cases the owner is unable to accept the reason, and there is an escape mentality. So I told her, "Don't be too nervous when you're holding a dog, don't pull the rope, first adjust to these techniques."
And when she starts showing me what she really is, at least not so exclusive of me, I slowly tell her that the mood and state of the master will affect the dog. I told her I could feel what she was like, but there's nothing to be afraid of out there because they couldn't hurt her. As long as the master's behavior changes, the dog's behavior changes.
All the programmes I gave her, she would do them seriously, even if she was not in a particularly good state.
Many of these masters make me feel that it makes sense. Maybe for the master, I helped them a lot, but for me, they taught me a lot. I learned a lot from them.
Because I am a single parent, I have some bad impressions about childhood to choose this job. But in the course of my class, I found that not all families are bad, and that they have met a particularly beautiful and active host and a very loving host couple. A sense of justice to be sharpened.

It's actually a particularly vulnerable occupation. Because it's a good adjustment and a good behavioural assessment, it's a sure thing that dogs get better after they give their own advice.
I used to think that the owner gave me money and I was going to solve the problem for him, but now I find that the owner bought experience and knowledge from me, that he wouldn't do it, that I had no idea.
I met a master who said he was a biting dog, but he didn't have the money to give him a free lesson, and if I didn't help him, he'd put the dog away.
I went to his house and offered him something easier. For example, in the case of environmental management, there was no need for him to do anything but to surround the house, the management of the management and the removal of the removal.
I told him very clearly. Dogs act like people, it takes a period of time. If its actions had appeared and had lasted for some time, it would not have been solved once or twice. Even a person who spends all night and night trying to change that habit is not going to be able to do it in one or two days.
He can't talk to me about dogs since he left his house. I'll ask him if he's holding on to the plan, and he's very perfunctory: "Do it, do it." And then he said, "I don't have time for this. I'm so busy at the supermarket."
I don't know if he sent the dog away or if he's happy. I never saw the dog in his circle again.
Slowly, I think this job has wiped out something that I had a special sense of justice.
I have seen online a blogger who claims to have been in training for 10 years, with many seemingly powerful titles, misled his master with the wrong point of knowledge. He also advertises and sells classes in Kopp's name on the video.
The pet behaviour adjuster is a life-oriented profession, which is not like selling treasures, and has seven days to return without reason. We're teaching the master. The master has a dog. It's about life.
Often when the master trusts you, he doesn't think, and when he's in trouble, he's more likely to be ill-treated. I've received one of the masters before, and the dog has bled, and he doesn't take it to see the doctor, and he asks me privately. I'm sure it might have sent this photo of the dog spitting blood to every pet involved, but I'm not a vet.
And this kind of thing is retrograde, and when the owner doesn't know whether the product or the teacher is worth the money himself, and someone who doesn't deserve it, he thinks our industry has problems.
In our line of work, the word "German" is the most important, but it's the truth. Knowledge can build on experience and learn from the day after tomorrow, but without ethics, it doesn't matter.
So the industry has a high degree of self-restraint. It is true that there is some confusion in this business and there is no threshold of access, but I think that there will certainly be policies when something big happens in our business or in any institution.
