The re-emergence of the pet blind box, the death of many cats and dogs, is life a business game

In recent days, Shanghai citizens have discovered hundreds of abandoned courier boxes filled with cats and dogs, and their screams have been tragic. The local animal protection volunteers arrived at the scene for treatment when they learned.

Most of these abandoned cats and dogs are known to be only two months old, and by the time volunteers arrived, more than 20 had died. The remaining 80 were only examined and are now adopted by caring persons. The police are currently conducting further investigations.

In 2021, many tragedies related to the blind box for pets have occurred. In May, volunteers from an animal rescue centre in Chengdu received reports from netizens, intercepted a delivery van carrying blind pet boxes, and found 36 live cats and 141 dogs, which were packed in small boxes, unable to move, without sunlight, without water and food, and even lost their lives.

In recent years, the blind box economy has flourished, with the birth of hundreds of billion blind box companies. As a commercial marketing model, the blind box has been very successful in accurately capturing consumer psychology — a sense of surprise, excitement and mystery that can easily become addictive, an uncertain stimulus that increases the likelihood that players will buy again and again.

On the other hand, more and more industries are marketing in this way, and the problem is becoming more apparent, as in the case of the repeatedly exposed blind boxes of pets, which are dressed in blind boxes and do things contrary to humanity.

It is known that the unit price of a blind box store is around $30, with more than 5,000 items sold a month and earning more than $150,000. These shopkeepers will tell consumers that if a pet dies, a photo can be taken to replace one, which is obviously not costly, and that they know the state of health of the pets they sell, that there are high risks in the transport process, but that it is in the interest and choice to take risks and challenge the legal red line.

If the merchants who sell the blind boxes are bad, the people who buy the blind boxes are stupid and bad. They're lucky to be able to buy valuable varieties with $9.9 and treat pets as a show-off game.

They do not necessarily know what kind of torture the pets will suffer during transport, but are controlled by a pathological desire, lose basic reason, or they simply don't care.

Would a man like that buy sick, ill-healthed pets and spend money treating them? It's obviously not a good chance, or they don't need to buy blind boxes, so why don't they just pay for their own kind?

The dignity of life, trampled on in front of the blind box, even if they were lucky enough to buy a high-quality pet blind box, is unlikely to become a responsible pet owner, who may pass by with fresh energy, leaving the pet behind, which will cause the problem of stray cats and dogs in the city to grow.

From any point of view, the dog blind box is a business without a bottom line, building the happiness of a small part of the population on the pain of animals and on the conscience of others, which is an alienation of recreational activities and a departure from social morality.

Actually, the blind box for pets is not impossible. The Postal Act expressly prohibits the mailing of live animals. This blood-borne business can only disappear if regulations are put in place to provide stricter supervision of courier companies and to cut off the chain of transport in the blind pet box.

Following the exposure of the Chengdu pet blind box incident, various major electrician platforms have fallen off the shelf. However, in the course of their operations, they lack effective management, some of the illegal businesses use soundings, photo circumvention of platform detection, or transfer of traffic to other platforms for trading, leading to the abuse of large numbers of kittens and dogs. Electrician platforms need to strengthen their capacity to screen and monitor information, detect violations in a timely manner and impose penalties.

There should be a high degree of sense of responsibility, whether it be buying or selling pets, because pets are also life, and life is essentially equal, and people cannot torture and abuse other lives for their own benefit and preferences.
