According to Sky News, on 1 February, a 4-year-old British girl was bitten by a domestic pet dog and the police defined the tragedy as an accident. When Prime Minister Sunak learned of the incident, he paid tribute to the girl ' s family and her community.
At around 5 p.m. local time, on 1 February, Alice Stones, a four-year-old, was attacked by a pet dog and Alice died when the police arrived.
In order to ensure public safety, the dog had been executed, but its variety was unknown. No others were injured in this tragedy, and local officials are helping Alice ' s family.
The local police district commander of Milton Cairns, Mark Tabit, said: “This dog attack shocked all citizens and the investigation is ongoing. It was hoped that people would not speculate about the cause of the incident until the results of the investigation were available, which would be of no benefit to Alice ' s family and would only make them suffer. Alice's family demands that people respect their privacy during this difficult time.”
Following the death of Alice, about 100 people gathered spontaneously in a church near her home to hold candlelight vigils for her.
People gathered in the dark, holding candles, praying for the family on the green ground behind the church.
Rita Matthews, a 36-year-old neighbour, said that she often saw Alice while sending her daughter to school.
Matthews said, "On the way back, she always held Mom's hand. We'll never see this girl again. I'm sad. Alice is a very happy little girl, hoping that her mother will come out of the tragedy soon.”
