The 18th Congress of France voted in favour of the amendment of the law on animal care. From the point of view of preventing animal welfare and impulsive shopping, the sale of cats and dogs in pet shops has been prohibited since 2024. President Marlon will shortly sign and implement the bill.

Faced with this situation, the cat-lovers in the French government have decided to cure the causes of the problem and to stop the abandonment of cats and dogs from buying and selling them.
On 27 January 2021, the French National Assembly adopted a proposal by the representatives of the “Republic Advance Party (LREM)” and “Action Party (Agir)” — an amendment “prohibiting the sale of cats and dogs in pet shops”! As soon as the events unfolded, French society was shaken! If the amendment is finally adopted by the government, French pet stores will no longer be allowed to sell cats and dogs from 2024!
