The police had recently uncovered illegal pet trade at the pier, with dozens of dogs under one month old piled up in the trunk of a car. The illegal trade in dogs is very prevalent in Scotland, where about thousands of dogs are illegally brought in every year, most of them coming to Northern Ireland and the Principality of Ireland.
Most of the children involved in the illegal trade were Westchester, Lion Dogs, 8th Brother, Coca Dogs and Knight King Charles Hounds, each of which sold over $1,000 on the market. It's time to take care of these little dogs, and they're coming back to life! The dogs are now in our custody, but will soon be opened for adoption.
The dogs were lucky to be rescued in time, and the consequences of continuing to be held in the trunk for longer periods of time would be difficult to imagine. But in many countries it is possible to legally reproduce and sell dogs, which makes it difficult for more mothers and babies and makes the slogan "adoption instead of purchase" even more difficult to practice.
