In accordance with the provisions of the railway sector, from 1 May passengers with visual disabilities may enter the station with guide dogs. Yesterday, Beijing Station, Beijing West Station, Beijing South Station, Beijing North Station and Beijing North Station simultaneously issued a service regulation for driving blind dogs into the station. Each station will be accompanied by a dedicated person, a specific section and a dedicated corridor. The station also reminds blind passengers to enter the station with a towed chain to the guide dog chain, wearing a guidance blind saddle, and to present “four certificates” on their own initiative, including the documents used for the purchase of tickets, certificates for the disabled, certificates for the guide dog, certificates for animal health immunization, and to cooperate in the examination.
According to the railway department, tickets for persons with disabilities will be issued at all stations in accordance with the regulations. For passengers who purchase tickets within 24 hours of driving, information about their tickets, car travel etc. will be communicated to the station duty station chief. Train stations will provide special waiting areas for passengers with visual disabilities, as well as access roads, and will provide escorts at all stages of ticket purchase, car ride and docking with the station master.
The railway department advises passengers that when entering the station with a guide dog, they are also required to cooperate with the security officer and to conduct the relevant security checks of the guide dog in accordance with the procedure; when entering the station with the guide dog and travelling in the car, please wear a guide saddle for the guide dog chain, and present the “Four Certificates”. Travellers who have tickets, certificates, non-conformity and lack of documentation are refused entry to the station; while waiting at the station, passengers with visual disabilities or adult companions are required to take care of guide dogs and take care of guide dogs to eat, drink and excrete, so as not to affect the environmental health of the station.
Passengers with visual disabilities who carry guide dogs can contact the railway passenger service centre 12306 hours in advance of driving, request a guide dog to enter the station and inform them of the date, number, seat number, etc. of the ticket purchased.
There is no advance contact with a passenger service centre at the railway station or a telephone hotline appointment service.
