The owner sent the dog to a pet training facility for “kindergarten”, which was designed to teach the dog simple skills, but after a few days, suddenly received the bad news of the dog's summer death, and the owner was sad enough to demand compensation. It was described that Mr. Ying's dog was a clever and good-looking golden fur dog, nine months old. On 9 August last year, Mr. Yan sent the dog to a pet service company in Xiamen for training, which lasted from 10 August to 15 September 2020, and signed a letter of agreement paying $6,000. It was not expected that on 14 August, Mr. Yan was suddenly informed of the death of his dog due to the heat. After that, Mr. Yan and the company failed to agree on the amount of compensation and went to court. Mr. Zhong demanded a refund of $6,000 for training fees and an award of $30,000.
Mr. Zheng said: “Doggies should have specific precautions and communicate more with me every day if they have summer training.”
Journalists learned that pet dogs would be kept in isolation in foster care for seven days before being sent to the resort for training. In addition to 12 commands such as “sitting down” and “sitting next to each other”, Mr. Zheng enrolled in the junior “kindergarten class” for the dog, the resort offers different training courses, ranging from $5,000 to $30,000 for the middle school, upper secondary school and special university classes.
In court, Mr. Yan stated that the dog had spent $6,400 on it and that the price of his own meals and snacks and toys for the dog had not been low, and that he had devoted much effort and time. The sudden death of the dog during the summer must have been due to excessive training, and he could not accept the $20,000 compensation awarded by the company.
A lawyer from a pet service company stated that dogs died on the fifth day of isolation and that there was no over-training leading to death. In addition, the price of the dog market of the same quality was up to $1,500, and Mr. Yan's prices were too high, as were the costs of nutrition and moral damage. “By the heart of the dog, we have also paid for the dog's medical expenses, funeral expenses and no claim from Mr. Yan.”
