At the beginning of the summer season, many parents take annual leave, take their children to travel or study. What if you can't take a pet on your annual vacation?
Over the past few days, top-profile journalists have been visiting the summer peaks, where pet hotels offering laundry and high-end foster care for pets are well received. The industry analyses that comfortable hotel-type foster care has become a trend in pet consumption, and the flames of its “economic” are burning and are closely related to consumer demand.
Travelers.
Caring for foster pets.
Ms. Lee, who lives in Hongshan, raised a dog and two birds. Two days ago, she was going to take her children to Shanghai for a trip to Disney, where she could not carry her pet in the car and was not comfortable keeping her dog at home. For this reason, she looked around for pet foster care.
"A summer trip to the peak, the pet hotel room is hard to get." Ms. Lee said that she had interviewed three or four pet shops and had been told that the pet rooms were fully booked.
"Travel once or twice a year, and I'll choose to foster the dog, so it's easy and easy." Ms. Hou, who had had pets for many years, said that prices of about $100 would be acceptable for about a week. In addition to summer holidays, returning home later in the year, Ms. Huo will also foster pets, although at times no room can be reserved for additional money.
There are, however, consumer concerns about pet foster care. Most pets say it is convenient to travel to foster pets, but there is a fear that they may be infected with some diseases.
The pet hotel.
It's always hard to get a room.
On 15 July, Ms. Rowe, director of a pet hotel in Hanyang, described the particularly high number of citizens in foster care for pets during their holidays, which were provided with rooms of cat, dog and villa types.
In this shop, foster pets are charged a daily price ranging from 80 to 100, and a pre-care certificate is required to ensure their health.
A pet hotel staff member on Friendship Boulevard also stated that five rooms in the shop had been converted to pet foster care, with a dog room of 120 yuan/day, “a foster care must be reserved first if it is to be ordered. There is only one room left, and three or four more customers will place orders as soon as foster time is determined.”
In Ms. Rowe's pet hotel, journalists saw that dogs were designed in single rooms, standard rooms, sunlight rooms, and so on, with different rooms, with small beds, carpets and recreational areas for climbing slides.
“The owner of a pet can network with his mobile phone and learn about his pet dynamics 24 hours a day.” Ms. Rowe said that while customers foster pets, the pets live in separate rooms, the shopkeepers provide housekeeper services and walk dogs at some point in time.
Consumer demand
The pet economy.
The consumer market associated with pets is becoming a new point of economic growth. According to the White Paper on Trends in the Consumption of Chinese pets in 2021, the size of our urban pet industry reached $29.8 billion in 2020 and is expected to grow at a composite rate of 14.2 per cent over the next three years, reaching $44.56 billion by 2023.
According to the data, in 2020 the market for the consumption of Chinese urban pets (dog cats) was 206.5 billion yuan, of which pet foster care services accounted for about 1.3 per cent.
The large pet market is gradually covering all pet-related sub-sectors, such as pet food, pet supplies, pet medicine and pet sales. Today, the emerging pet economy extends to more subdivided areas such as beauty, marriage brokers, training, burial, etc.
Industry analyses suggest that the pet market can reach nearly 300 billion market sizes, and even the expected growth in the future is so rapid that it is closely linked to consumer demand. Many young consumers are constantly testing their water to meet their own needs, pushing the markets for pets, such as pet supplies, storage services, pet medicine, etc., to a higher share and making the “economic” more dynamic.
