The rise of the pet industry has been accompanied by a number of consumer practices around the pet industry, of which pet beauty is one. According to a survey on pet consumption (2022) previously launched by the Southern Dwelling Centre, 91.41 per cent of the respondents took love to pet shop beauty. O1 journalists visited several underline pet clinics in Guangzhou. According to statistics, the price of a canine bath is between $60 and $360 (start), the price of a canine cat is between $130 and $180, and the price of a long canine is 160 and $220.
In addition, the pet function bath is divided into a cool bath, a hair-protecting bath, and an insecticide-treated bath. In the case of an 18-kg medium-sized dog, a clean bath, a hair-protecting bath and a deworming bath would require $110, $120 and 180 respectively.
The price range for pet SPA services is greater, with the price range for dogs ranging from $80 to $1460 (start) depending on the weight of the body, and a maximum of $1460 (start) for a single SPA canine over 40 kg. SPA needs $180 to $420 and SPA needs $220 to $500.
A pet shopkeeper told journalists that bathing a pet was a physical activity that usually required two or more staff to operate at the same time, and that it required more manpower to meet a large dog or a more grumpy pet and emotional comfort for the pet.
Consumers told reporters there's a pet shop that only shaves for cats. It's $2,300 for hair at a time, and at least $2,000 for canine and cat to dye.

Why are there frequent consumer disputes about expensive pet beauty? Zheng Han Wei, President of the Guangdong Petty Beauty Association, had previously indicated that the pet industry was still at an early stage of development in the country and that, with the exception of the Animal Feed Management Scheme issued by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, there were no regulatory standards for pet services, training, appliances and tools.
At the same time, pet hairdressers who provide beauty services for pets are also the focus of attention in consumer disputes. O1 journalists visited a number of pet beauty training structures and found that the current threshold for the pet beauty industry is low, resulting in uneven service levels.
