There's always something moving about animals. There's one out there. Cats, ashs, often go to the neighbor's house to play with a big dog, Grace, a cat and a dog quickly become good friends, eat together, and sunbath together. But it's not unusual that 12-year-old Grace died of lymph cancer a year ago, and that little ash who lost his best friend didn't know he didn't want to face his best friend's death. He's still sitting in the yard of Grace's house, sitting in the window, waiting for a good friend one day to come out.
Grace is an American Eskimo dog who usually prefers to stay in the yard, while guarding his home and making friends with animals in the yard!
The owner said that Grace was very maternal, that she was born to protect the weak and the family, that there were sometimes squirrels, owls and rabbits in the yard, and that Grace was very friendly to them. "He protected me from snake kisses once, when he was only eight months old."
About two and a half years ago, a strange cat appeared in their yard one day, and the passionate Grace showed her how to treat her. A cat and a dog quickly became good friends. Grace's owner assumed that the cat came from a community two blocks away, because he didn't know his name, so he called him Little Ash.
Since then, Grizzly has come to play with Grace, and Grace will share her little snack tomatoes with her, which surprises the owner, because Grace doesn't like people touching his food! And their friendship is deepening in sharing food and in the sun together.
At the end of October 2017, just after Grace ' s 12th birthday, the master found that his condition was not right and took him to a doctor. After a series of tests, Grace was diagnosed with malignant lymphoma and died in a single month. "He spent most of his last days on the porch, and we think he's probably leaving his animal friends."
Little ash also came many times during this period, and even without a little tomato, he insisted on being with Grace.
After Grace's death, Little Ash continued to appear. "When he comes, he will sit in our window for a while, sometimes 20 minutes or more, as if he wanted to wait for Grace to meet him as she had before." After making sure that we can't wait for Grace, Little Ash will go around to see if Grace is hiding in any corner and finally lay down in the sun.
"Although it's sad to see Little Ash, it's comforting to us that Grace is not only alive in our hearts, but his cat friend hasn't forgotten him!" said the master.
With so much love and memory, I'm sure Grace will be happy on the Rainbow Bridge!
