According to the United States Daily News, a Chinese student in the Long Island region who had been prosecuted by the police for alleged abuse of a pet dog in the United States stated that he had not abused animals at all and that he had been charged with “acknowledged to abuse a dog” simply because he had told the police that he had “brought” a dog.

The FBI agents then asked him if he had kicked or beaten the dog, and all received a negative answer. After the FBI agents left, Yang was not too concerned about the matter, nor did he think that the answers would be evidence against him by the police and could lead to imprisonment.
Unfortunately, the New York police went to Yang's place on 22 days to arrest him on suspicion of “absorbing his own pet dog to death” and referring to Yang's “substantial confession”. According to Madeline Singas, the district prosecutor for Naso County, Yang had simply entered his bedroom without permission, resulting in the brutal beating of a puppy to a broken rib, a broken liver and internal bleeding.
After handing over the Chinese passport, Yang was allowed to leave the prison. If the charges were established, Yang would face two years ' imprisonment, putting him under considerable pressure.
