In order to further enhance the dissemination of knowledge about the prevention and control of rabies and other common diseases among animals, to increase awareness of civilization, to maintain public health and safety, and to ensure the effective development of the standardization branch, the first section of the Centre for the Prevention and Control of Animal Diseases in the province of CCP Shandong (hereinafter referred to as the "first party branch of the Centre"), together with the Huaxia Sangqing Community Branch of the China Communist Party of Jenan City and the Veterinary Industries Division of the Provincial Veterinary Association, jointly organized a community service on 29 May in the Hua Shatyuan sub-district of the Tangmetal Street Community.
The Director-General of the Department of Livestock and Veterinary Medicine and the Deputy Secretary-General of the Central Party, Li Xing, were present at the scene and directed the activities; Comrade Chen Jing, Secretary of the First Party of the Centre, led the entire membership of the Centre, technical cadres, members of the Youth Theory Learning Group and community workers in an active and enthusiastic campaign to spread knowledge on rabies prevention and control among the community; and Comrade Zhang, Vice-President of the Standing Committee of the Petty Industries and Veterinary Medical Branch of the Provincial Veterinary Association, together with the Chief of the Petty Industries Veterinary Section, Jinnan Heart Animal Hospital, together provided technical guidance to pet breeders, health care and disease prevention and treatment.
Through this event, the community population has been taught how to communicate better with pets, how to identify the aggressive and potentially dangerous nature of the dog through dog behaviour and emotions, how to protect the individual after being injured by the dog, how to communicate rabies in detail, and how to improve prevention and control; and how to obtain community recognition of pet farming and an overview of rabies, through a questionnaire, to provide strong scientific data support for the future public information community focus. At the same time, the Chinan Hearts and Animals Hospital offers free medical consultations for pets, health check-ups and gifts to pet owners of items such as canine food, which are welcomed by a large number of pet owners. The event was successful.
The high rate of community participation in the event was highly praised, the benefits of which were widely expressed, and the need to visit the community on an irregular basis to conduct science activities was euphemismally expressed. The Centre will continue to conduct awareness-raising campaigns on the subject in order to increase the scientific nature of dogs in the community, to increase the awareness of civilized dogs and to inform the public about how to prevent the occurrence of rabies and other common diseases and to safeguard public health.
