The staff of the CDC in Fuzhou reminds that rabies spread mainly through animal bites and that if a cat or dog is scratched, the wounds should be treated in a timely manner.
Once a dog or cat has been bitten, whether or not it was a mad dog at that time, the wound must be treated in a timely manner: if the wound is bleeding, do not rush to stop the bleeding if it is not too much, because the blood flowing can wash away the dog's saliva from the wound, which can naturally cause some disinfection. If the wound is deep or critical areas such as the face are bitten, rabies are also injected with immunoglobin.
The staff members repeatedly reminded patients who had been bitten by animals that they should go to a vaccination clinic near their home as soon as possible to inoculate them with rabies, preferably within 24 hours, and in the case of their own pet dog, within 48 hours. Patients who bite light or heavy receive 5 shots of vaccine and complete it within 28 days, three days, four days, one week and two weeks, respectively. If the bite is particularly severe, such as in the case of a person who has been bitten more than three wounds, he/she is also given a serum before being vaccinated against rabies. He/she is immersed in the muscles around the wound in order to neutralize the rabies virus.
How about a dog bite in summer?
If you have a dog at home, take care of your pet and inject it in a timely manner, while being safe from being bitten or injured by a dog. Who's responsible for a dog bite?
Under article 78 of our Tort Liability Act, liability is incurred unless the owner can prove that the damage was caused by the victim ' s wilful or gross negligence. He said that, under the relevant legal provisions of our country, responsibility for abuse should be borne by animal breeders or managers who caused damage to others. The pet dog is scared and the master is responsible for no fault. The owner is liable for tort damage, even if he is not at fault. Liability may be exonerated or mitigated if it can be shown that it was the victim ' s intentional or gross negligence.
