Yesterday, journalists learned from the Municipal Council of the City of Lhasa that the third phase of the adoption centre for stray dogs in the city of Lhasa was about to begin and that, according to the design, the new canine house was located on the north side of the existing adoption centre office area, with 30 acres of land, with a two-storey layout of 13 units with a design capacity of 4,100 units.
The new canine house will ease the pressure of adoption.
The relevant head of the City of Lhasa Management Committee explained that the third phase of the project for the adoption of stray dogs was located on the northern side of the existing adoption centre, covering 30 acres and designing 13 canine houses, which could accommodate 4,100 dogs.
"New canine house or two floors." The Officer-in-Charge explained that in order to rationalize the use of resources, the new canine house was designed on two floors, seven standard canine rooms on one floor and six canine rooms on the second floor, with an area of over 7,200 square metres. "The design capacity of 4,100 is a good relief to the current pressure."
In addition, the three-phase project for the adoption of stray dogs will strengthen facilities such as medicine rooms, dispensaries, dressing rooms, disinfection rooms, and pet baths, and will introduce automated feeding to make the rearing of stray dogs more automated and mechanized. “We are planning to use automated feeding in the newly built canteens, which will make it possible to manage dogs more scientifically and better to safeguard their physical health, by fully learning from the best management experience through our study in the interior.” The Officer-in-Charge said that the new canine house had been equipped with a dressing room and a disinfection room and that, in the future, access to the canine house would be subjected to a dressing and disinfection procedure to ensure the health and safety of the dog at every step.
Every dog is fully cared for.
It is understood that there are currently over 7,000 dogs in the adoption centre in Lhasa City, and that each can receive comprehensive care at the adoption centre. In future, the new canine house will also include an exhibition room, a pet house, areas of activity, etc.
“We have set up a visitors' area in the new canine house where citizens can visit in the future.” The Officer-in-Charge said, “In order to improve public understanding of dog life, we have also set up an exhibition room to post the day-to-day management of dogs for public view”. The new dog house has been set up as a family-styled room with couches, beds, etc., “Many stray dogs have no experience of family life, and we want to give the dog a sense of the atmosphere of the family by setting up a pet house”.
The design also included a runway, which was introduced by the head, as an area of activity for dogs. “We want the management of dogs to become more and more human, so the new canine is designed to have an area of activity, a long runway, where dogs can only release nature.” The director said that the dog would feel happier.
