The undeniable marathon or any campaign is difficult.
You have to hit the sidewalk for hours, sweating and panting until it feels like your leg's gonna give up on you.
So imagine an athlete not only with his own power to cross the finish line, but also the random dog she met on the road.
Khemjira Klongsanun, 43, participated in a marathon in Ratchaburi in western Thailand last Sunday morning when she found many runners moving around this lonely dog.
While many would not allow a stray animal to impede their race, Khemjira slowed down to see if she could find its owner.
She picked up the dog and decided to take it to the finish line 19 miles away.
The owner has now adopted the puppy, which is believed to be only a few months old and named “Chombueng” after the name of the marathon.
Shemjira said, "It seems to me that this little guy is lost. No house, no other dog, or nobody around. So, I picked up the dog just to get him out of an insecure environment."
The renamed Joben looks like he's only a few months old, and now he's staying at Zigira's house and playing with two other dogs.
Turning to the previous marathon, Zigira said that running with the dog was challenging and her pace slowed.
She's taken Joben to the hospital to check and get the vaccine, and she's happy to make that decision herself.
It may take some time to adapt, but Joben is a very smart boy, and I'm sure he'll live happily with us.
