As we often see, women in European and American countries, when pregnant, usually have a companion dog and hostess at home, walking with the hostess, resting, and even trained dogs to do a lot for the hostess.

Many dogs can smell the master's pregnancy, sometimes scratch the master's belly, but it's the dog's baby girl who is anxious to meet her. So we often see a lot of foreign children, eating and sleeping with dogs, not only fine, but also a responsible nanny.

Li Xiaoxiang was close to her dog during her pregnancy.

In the country, it's not the same when a woman gets pregnant and her parents can't wait to get her dog out of the door, to kill herself and to fear the bowworms. But you know why? Isn't the European-American family afraid of bow worms? There has been an increase in domestic domestic cat and dog pets in recent years, and many newspapers have warned the public that cat and dog can cause bow worm disease and cause terrible foetal malformations.

While prevention is necessary, unfortunately, many articles are not accurate, some are exaggerated and sensational, causing unprovoked public panic and the abandonment of many small animals. This paper answers a few of the questions often asked by pet owners.

What's a bow worm?

The infection is caused by the parasite of a bow worm, which is common in all parts of the world, with about 16 to 40 per cent of adults in the United States and the United Kingdom infected and 70 per cent surveyed, while 50 to 80 per cent of adults in the continent and Latin America infected and up to 90 per cent of French. The survey conducted in the 23 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions of the country in 1985-90 was mostly less than 10 per cent, significantly lower than in foreign countries.

The vast majority of normal human infections with bowel worms are not symptomatic, or very light, and only a few have initial infections (or primary infections) with fever, lymphoma swelling, headaches, muscular cortex and abdominal pains, with human immunity after a few days or weeks, symptoms for hours, only a bag formed in the body for several months, years or more, usually self-healing. However, cases with severe immuno-deficiency, such as AIDS, have serious consequences if infection occurs.

How is the bow worm contagious?

The first is to eat uncooked meat, especially pigs and sheep. Almost all mammals and birds, such as rats, pigs, sheep, cattle, rabbits and chickens, ducks, geese, etc., can transmit bowworms and have high rates of infection. Pollution from raw meat or meat cut-off boards can also be contagious. The low infection rate of the bowworms in the above-mentioned population may be linked to the Chinese habit of eating meat.

Dogs can also infect bowworms, but neither their faeces nor their excreta are contagious and cannot be infected if they do not eat dog meat. There is no basis for saying that “dogs are closely connected and one of the major sources of human infection”, and that children born with “difficult, congenital heart disease or an additional finger” are blamed for raising dogs at home.

Infected cat dung is an important source of infection. Cats and cat animals are the ultimate hosts of bowworms, and infected cat dung pellets are removed, usually lasting between one week and 20 days, and very little more; this is the time of infection.

Around 1 per cent of cat dung surveyed around the world contained bowworm pellets. The cysts in cat shit have to grow in the outside for two to five days to be contagious, so it is important to treat cat shit in a timely manner. The cysts can survive in water, wet soil for months or longer, so that cat shit-contaminated food, drinking water and even dust can be infected.

In areas where the meat is fully cooked, cat animals are an important source of human infection. However, many other animals as hostess can also be transmitted. For example, many pastures have very few cats and many cattle and sheep are infected; and there are few islands in the world without cats, and the rate of infection on the island remains high.

Thus, there is an important human parasitic book in the country, which says that, given the high rate of infection among livestock as intermediate hosts, the contamination of cat dung is less important in terms of the source of human infection than the consumption of raw meat. The infection of pregnant women with bowworms can transmit to the foetus, and congenital infections occur, which is important because of the potential for serious consequences of congenital infections. However, it is possible for a pregnant woman who has not been infected with a bow worm before pregnancy to be infected with the foetus during the first (preliminary) infection during pregnancy, and if she has been infected with a bow worm before pregnancy, she is no longer at risk of infection.

What are the risks to the foetus of congenital albino infection?

In the case of congenital infections during the first three months of pregnancy, approximately 40 per cent of the foetuses may be seriously affected by miscarriages, stillbirths or neonatal diseases, or pathologies or malformations of the eye, the brain or the liver after birth, such as retina pulsitis, cataracts, internal calcification of the brain, hydrocephalus, small deformities, mental disorders, yellow stings and hepatic spleen. Less than 3 per cent of the infection occurred in the last three months of pregnancy.

How do we combat bow worm infection?

First, care is taken about food hygiene, meat is fully cooked and raw meat is not contaminated.

Second: Cats should be kept at home to feed cooked or finished cat food and not allow them to eat outside. Because cat infections eat infected mice or birds or eat food that contaminates cat dung.

Third: Take care of daily hygiene, clear cat excreta every day, and wash your hands carefully when exposed to animal excreta.

Fourth: Avoid contact with cats and their faeces during pregnancy, unless the mother ' s seropsy shows that she has had a bowworm infection.

Fifth: There are a variety of easy and effective drug treatments for bowel infections, e.g. sulfamide plus ethylamide, and spirin, which must be medically prescribed and timely treatment for pregnant women may reduce the chances of foetal infection.

It is natural for every mother to wish for the best possible environment for her children. Unfortunately, most gynaecologists do not know the science of domestic animals, but simply advise their mothers to stay away from pets and even panic, causing unnecessary panic.

When you send a dog that's actually harmless blindly, the dog is scared, depressed, and his health and sexuality deteriorate. It is an unnecessary tragedy that old masters also suffer from the loss of health through thoughts and guilt.

A woman who has a dog should be examined before she's ready to be a mother. The examination of the bow worm is one of the four items covered by it. If TORCH ' s test report shows that it has been infected with bowworms, it is safe to welcome the arrival of the baby; but if it shows that it is infected, it is not possible to get pregnant. The bowworms are mainly found in the stomach of stray cats, which generally do not. If you've been raising cats for years, even if you've been infected with bow worms, you've already developed antibodies in your body. It doesn't matter.
