Dogs are the best friends of mankind, but that does not mean that you can exploit their loyalty at will. There is a poor feeder who has a dog as a door dog and who uses a very cruel way to keep him from sleeping.
The former owner of Cala tied him with a short chain and deliberately prevented him from sleeping.
The dog, Cala, is owned by a mechanic in Costa Rica, who for many years has been tied to his neck with a super-short chain, which prevents him from relaxing his sleep and from breathing and eating, and allows him to die when he is sick and does not take him to a doctor. The neighbours finally failed to see it and reported to the police and the animal protection unit that when Cala was rescued, he suffered from malnutrition and wounds to the neck so that he had to be treated immediately.
Cala, who had just been sent to the shelter, was deeply distrustful of humanity.

Battle recalls what happened when he first saw a picture of Cala, "an animal who was deprived of dignity and had given up living, an endless nightmare." As a result of years of tied-up, Cala's neck was surrounded by an unrehabilitated wound and the process was full of pain, an abyss beyond the imagination of the bystanders.
After being rescued, Cala was subjected to another malicious attack by humanity. Sixteen dogs were killed as a result of the theft into the shelter and the use of toxic sausages to poison the dog. Cala survived because of its large size and the amount of poison that it did not kill. Cala, who escaped death, was sent to a host family, to learn to stay with a new family, and the foster mother was very fond of him. “Cala became stronger after years of neglect and torture, and finally, the power of love won, and Cala became himself again.”
With care, Cala finally regains the smile it deserves and regains its trust in humanity.
