An earlier study by a Spanish authoritative expert found that dogs could indeed discover a taste associated with epilepsy. This may help people train their dogs so that they can reliably alert their owners before they have an epilepsy.
Knowing how epilepsy occurs is likely to give epilepsy patients greater control and initiative, and means that they can use a reasonable response to avoid injury, seek help or take medication.
The study found that the accuracy of the test for epilepsy model varied from 67 per cent to 100 per cent, while the test for epilepsy was from 95 per cent to 100 per cent. Such results indicate that epilepsy is associated with a particular odour and is irrelevant to the type of epilepsy or the patient ' s medical condition.
According to the UK Action for Epilepsy spokesperson, some were already suffering from epilepsy in their dog. He also explained that it was still unclear to the people whether they were making sure of it through taste buds or other senses!
