Although we have always advocated “adoption as an alternative to purchase”, only 10 per cent of the animals that are adopted every year are homeless, that is to say, there are still a lot of animals left unattended, and every day there are no more shelters.
But there are still animals abandoned, and in order to maintain balance, only a decree is issued that any animal that has not been adopted for a specified period of time will be forced to enjoy peace. Jonathan is a volunteer in a shelter, and he knows very well how many lovely and weak animals receive death every day.
Some of them are small, even two or three years old, but the demand is too small, and the number of people who come to a shelter for adoption every day, sometimes only one or two, and so many animals, who are honestly selected with little chance of death, end up being forced to die, regardless of their age and colour.
Jonathan also had another status, as a road driver, who usually went to a homeless animal shelter to help out, where he met a lot of hairy children, and what he wanted to say today was mostly stray dogs, which, perhaps, would have been abandoned because he was ugly.
It's also the limit of this idea that people would rather pay for dogs than adopt them for free, which is what Jonathan would like to tell you most, that stray dogs are not ugly-looking, but they can also be loveable dogs, no less than pet dogs.
At first Jonathan had a lot to worry about, like driving with a dog.
Or if a passenger sees a dog in the car, he feels dirty, or is simply afraid to get in the car, which is a problem that needs to be addressed, thanks to the consultations that took place for most of the six months, Jonathan solved it.
He started by consulting with the staff of the shelter, hoping to borrow two trained dogs who were generous, who were not afraid of strangers and who were small dogs, thus avoiding a lot of problems, as well as with the company, hoping to help publicize and make more dog-loving known.
Now Jonathan, who is a local Internet guest, and after one trip, a lot of passengers turn back, so they want to spend more time with dogs, including some who were a little scared of dogs, and now they're getting into Jonathan's car, and they're having a lot of dogs and laughing.
What kind of situation do you fear when you take a taxi? The answer must be awkward, two strangers in a closed space, it's really hard to remember, and there are too few drivers who talk to ease the mood.
Jonathan, as an old driver, had a deep sense of that, but since he had taken two dogs to work, that had largely not happened.
Even for a male passenger, he'll be fascinated by a cute dog and won't worry about boredom.
If some older passengers are encountered, or if the first-time customer is present, Jonathan will ask in advance, and the other party will not get in the car until he or she feels there is no problem, thus avoiding difficulties for the passengers;
For example, passengers who were allergic to dogs knew in advance that there was a sense of respect, rather than waiting to get in the car before they found out.
Even some passengers are willing to ask Jonathan for a dog, and it's a good idea to think about it in person, and it's a good thing to say, "Look at it, no matter how small it may be, you can't experience it."
M hopes that Jonathan's efforts will yield results, that more people will understand that stray dogs are worth loving, that they can be beautiful, that even without a master, they can be “informed” and that they will never be worse than the breed of dogs, and that they will be valued more because of the grief!
