The Scottish Animal Rights Charity has identified the dog's name by chip.
According to reports from outside sources, a dog was abandoned by the owner at a railway station in Scotland, accompanied by a dog's “carton”. Now the animal charity is trying to find the dog's owner.
On 2 January, the male hybrid sand dog was seen tied to the rail outside the Ayr station. The suitcase contains a puppy pillow, toys, food and dog food.
The charity Scottish Society for the Prevention of Abuse of Animals (SPCA) found a previous owner through a chip carried by the dog, but was told that the dog had been sold to others in 2013 and that they had no contact with the new owner.
Taylor, an investigator at the charity, said the dog had a chip on him, so he was able to find out his name was Kai.
He said, “We contacted the registered owner of the chip and were told that they sold the dog online in 2013.
Taylor said, "But unfortunately they can't tell us the address of the new owner of the dog."
He said that, although Kai had something that belonged to him when he was abandoned, it was still a very cruel event, and we would be happy to find the owner of the abandoned one. If anyone can help, we hope that they will be in touch with us as soon as possible.
According to Taylor, Kay is about two or three years old and is a very gentle puppy. The charity takes care of it until it finds a family who can love it for a long time.
According to Taylor, the incident highlighted the consequences of selling pets online. He indicated that some purchasers of pets often buy animals out of impulse, but know little about animals.
The Scottish Society for the Prevention of Animal Abuse has also reminded pet owners that abandonment of animals is an offence under the Animal Health and Interests (Scotland) Act 2006.
