According to Yahoo, the British police will collect DNA of the national dog, a measure originally designed to allow kidnapped and lost dogs to be reunited with their owners, the first way in the world to deal with dog theft.
The Gloucestershire police in the United Kingdom, in an effort to popularize this measure, invited the owners of the dogs to use £74.99 (approximately £675) as part of their groundbreaking “DNA Protection” programme to extract test kits from dogs.
These samples will then be sent to a professional forensic examination company called Cellmark, which has developed a national DNA database of dogs, accessible to all police forces, which allows for better tracking of dog activity and links if the dog's DNA is found on the body or object of the thief or suspect.
The interpreter also found a similar DNA test kit for dogs from the Amazon site, which was sold at a very high price of $135 (approximately RMB 870). However, in terms of function and use, the screening of varieties and health is marked, with a total buyer rating of 7648 commodities and a high rate of appreciation, with 90 per cent of users giving five stars.
The quick push of the project was driven by the sharp increase in dog theft last year. As a result of the epidemic, there has been a wave of pets in the UK since last year. A pet named the Epidemic Dog is especially well-loved, and people want to solve their dearth through pets. However, with the expansion of the market and the perceived profitability of thieves, DogLost, a charity that helps victims of dog theft, recorded a significant increase of 170 per cent in dog theft from 172 in 19 to 456 in 20 years.
