In spite of the increasing number of friends who have dogs in society today, there are also a number of outlaws who sell dog meat to make high profits, and the phenomenon is widespread. This is not the case in Dongyang, where men and women openly engage in dog hunting and then take them home for trafficking.
It has been reported in the media that, for profit, Dongyang men and women prepare anaesthesia needle, crossbows, knives, etc., and drive a set of vehicles to the town of Iowa, etc., to bring the dog back for slaughter and sale after freezing. In recent days, two persons have been sentenced for selling toxic and hazardous food.
Wang, a 30-year-old man, was sentenced twice by the Dongyang City Court for extortion and theft, and twice detained by the public security authorities for illegal supply of poison to others and obstruction of official duties.
Last December, as the weather turned cold, the doghouse business burst. When he felt business opportunities, he negotiated with the village girl Zhu and went to the dog slaughter and sell them. Forty-eight-year-old Zhu Chiu learned that he had money to earn, and he was so excited.
Early on the morning of 5 December last year, Wang and Chu drove a black sedan with a set number to the door of an enterprise in the town of Iowa, firing anaesthesia needles at two doorkeepers, to be pulled into the car after it was unconscious.
In the next three days, Wang and Chu had stolen more than 10 dogs, including in Buddhist town, and kept them all in a garage. They then continue to slaughter the dogs and freeze them for sale in freezers, knowing that they have anaesthesia in them.
