New York's biggest city in the United States has been suffering from rats, and there are rumors that there are more rats than people in New York! The municipal authorities are constantly experimenting with various methods of rat eradication, while some citizens, with their pet dogs, form the “rat eradication team”, which is said to have had a good effect on rats.
Since the outbreak, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention of the United States have issued warnings that, as a result of the closure of a large number of restaurants and businesses, rats are unable to find food and that “unusual offensive” behaviour occurs.
Agence France-Presse 23 reports that the owner of a New York City pet dog has spontaneously organized a “Ryder Lane Hound” which has been in place for nearly 30 years, carrying his own dog through the street at night and using the use of rats as his own. The CDC's warning about rats has not led to the retreat of the rodent volunteers. They are proud to say that it can both walk dogs and contribute to cities.
Every night, dogs work together, usually driven by short-legged dogs from dumps and bushes, followed by long-legged dogs who hunt and retrieve rats. Rat capture teams usually catch 40 rats easily every night.
