Liu used his neighbour's bicycle to wipe the dog's urine, and the vehicle was set on fire in order to destroy the evidence, causing a fire on the stairs, burning some of the bicycles and burning the inhabitants of the building who had escaped. In recent days, Liu was sentenced to three years and three months in prison by the People ' s Court of Xuxi District of Shanghai for setting fire in the first instance.
At the age of 62, Liu had a pet dog at his home, and the dog was often excreted in the building, causing dissatisfaction among the residents. Liu is very fond of his own dog and thinks that he has been stigmatized by the residents of the building, that he has been in conflict with his neighbours and that he has been in disharmony.
Early on the morning of 10 November last year, Liu Xiao's dog was excreted in the hall again, and in order to avoid being discovered by neighbours and to retaliate against a neighbour who had “breathed”, she removed her holster from her neighbour's bicycle in the hall and wiped it clean and hung it back. Fearing being found by the neighbours, Liu used a lighter to light up the vehicle and to grow. It was not expected that the flames would burst out of control, that more than 5 square metres of the entire building would be overfired, that a resident would be slightly injured by smoke during his escape, that items such as electric cars in the building would be burned, and that some public areas and houses would be smoked, valued and destroyed at $39,000.

On the same day, Liu was arrested, in the event of a statement of the facts of the case, and with the assistance of the family, compensation was paid to 27,000 people who had been burned, restitution of more than $72,000 for maintenance, cleaning expenses, etc., paid by the property company, the local council, and an understanding of the apology and financial compensation granted to the affected residents.
Following the court hearing, Xuxiaki found that Liu had deliberately set fire to public safety, which constituted a crime of arson and was punishable. As Liu has not yet had serious consequences as a result of this criminal act, and after the commission of the crime he confessed his guilt and voluntarily pleaded guilty to the crime, he has been actively involved in financial compensation and compensation, with the help of his family, and has obtained understanding from the neighbourhood council, the property company and the residents of the neighbourhood concerned. As a result, Liu was sentenced to three years and three months in prison for setting fire.
