“They have successfully carried out their honourable mission of training, and have now approved their withdrawal from active service.” On the afternoon of 25 August, the Nanning Fire Service held a retirement and adoption handover ceremony for seven retired search and rescue dogs at the Nanning City Fire Training Base.

Seven of the dogs that were retired were named “Rad”, “Twilight Cloud”, “Nico”, “The Great Black Bull”, “The Little Love”, “The Iron Chain”, of which “Twilight Cloud” was the 15th most successful member of the fourth National Search and Rescue Dog Daeby-Wu in 2017, and was the first member of the Command and Order Project in 2021 at the Guangxi Fire Industry Professional Skills Competition.
It is known that the longest service of retired search and rescue dogs is the Malinua “chain”, which has been in service for nine years. At present, seven search and rescue dogs, equal to 60 years of age for human beings, have begun to degenerate and fail to meet operational standards, and they have a perfect end to their “career career”.
At the ceremony, four instructors shared the excellent performance of search and rescue dogs during their service with a number of visiting friends, parents and children, reviewing their experiences in every rescue and intense competition they had been involved in, and then awarded each of the retired rescue dogs the "Red Flowers" and de-marked them.

“I hope they will enjoy the rest of their lives of happiness after they have taken the burden off.” At the end of the ceremony, trainers gave their blessing to seven retired search and rescue dogs who were about to start a new life. Retired search and rescue dogs will then leave the field of training and leave their partners who fought side by side to the “new home”, where they will continue to play their share of the heat.
