The disappearance has occurred year after year, but the disappearance of a husband and wife in Busan, Korea, is a matter of great concern, just because the disappearance is so gruesome that the Korean film The Missing Lover has been adapted to this strange event.
The owners of the story are Mr. Kwon and Ms. Choi. Mr. Kwon was a restaurant manager and Ms. Choi was a dramatist, who married in November 2015 and did not have any major contradictions in their lives, but only six months after the marriage, they suddenly disappeared, which was incomprehensible.
The time goes back to May 31, 2016.
On that day, the Busan police station in Korea received a call from a police officer claiming that he was the father of Mr. Kwon and that he had been unable to contact his son-in-law for several days, hoping that the police would find him.
After a brief inquiry, the police took over the surveillance of Mr. Kwon ' s district. The elevator surveillance video shows that on 27 May 2016, at around 2200, Ms. Choi went out shopping and went home by the elevator at 23.31, carrying a supermarket plastic bag with some items of life in her hand, and that Ms. Choi looked normal and looked no different than she did in her day.
Then at 3.45 a.m., Mr. Kwon returned home from work because he worked in the catering industry, and it was normal to work overtime, and it was reasonable to return home at that point, and his appearance was no different.
But after that, the surveillance never took a picture of the couple. In their neighbourhood there are 22 surveillance cameras, and the police have not seen their whereabouts. The police opened their door by technical means and found that there was only one dog, clean and clean, without any signs of fighting, and that even Ms. Choi ' s purchases of the previous few days had been left intact and unharmed.
On examination, it was found that only the passports, laptops, wallets and clothes often worn by Ms. Choi were taken from the entire family, and that nothing else had been moved, even the car was parked in the garage.
In fact, if you want to avoid surveillance, you can leave without taking the elevator and carefully charting the route, but, regardless of the circumstances, Mr. and Mrs. Kwon have no reason to do so, not to mention the fact that they were four days away from their disappearance and that, for the past four days, their bank cards have not had any consumption records. In addition, neither of them had ever travelled by public transport and had no entry or exit records.
Man, where the hell is he? And why leave your favorite pet dog alone?
The police then interviewed people who knew them and found out that they had contacted their colleagues between 28 May and 2 June. First, on 28 May, Ms. Choi sent a message to her colleagues stating that she had had an accident before and could not participate in rehearsals. The incident here was depression, for which Ms. Choi had been hospitalized; on the same day, Mr. Kwon called his colleagues and said that he was on leave.
On 30 May, Ms. Choi sent a message to her colleague from the theatre stating that she had withdrawn from the show; early the following day, Mr. Kwon called the theatre again to explain the situation of her wife and resigned on her behalf.
According to the two men, they were supposed to be in hospital, but the police contacted all the hospitals in Busan and found no record of Ms. Choi ' s visit.
The police had tried to locate people by mobile phone, but on the day of June 2, both had disappeared, and before Mr. Kwon's mobile phone was closed, he had sent a text to his father informing him that he was well. What is even more strange is that the last cell phone location shows that Mr. Kwon is in Busan, while Ms. Choi is in Seoul, with a distance of more than 400 kilometres.
Even more incomprehensible is the reaction of Mr. Kwon ' s father, who, after receiving the text message, stopped cooperating with the police and did not allow them to publish information about her son. Instead, Ms. Choi ' s family was anxious to find her daughter, and therefore, in both of their public messages, Mr. Kwon ' s appearance and key information were compromised and only Ms. Choi ' s information was made public.
When the case reached an impasse, a suspect was targeted by the police — Ms. Yin.
Ms. Yin was Mr. Kwon ' s ex-girlfriend, whose relationship was strongly opposed by her family and forced to break up. After that, Ms. YOON quickly married and settled in Norway with her husband, but neither of them broke up. Unfortunately, however, Ms. Yin ' s daughter had died, and at the same time the news of Mr. Kwon ' s marriage had reached her in her ears, and the combination of the two events had caused a considerable blow to her. She said to Mr. Kwon that she wanted her daughter to be resurrected and threatened that she would not spare them both if he married.
Moreover, the investigation found that Ms. Yin did return to Korea on 5 May 2016 and to Norway on 7 June, i.e. that she stayed in Korea while Mr. and Mrs. Kwon were missing. And while she was in Korea, she spent the whole time in cash consumption and had to question whether she was hiding her whereabouts.
Unfortunately, when the police found her, she had arrived in Norway. The Korean police had sought help from the Norwegian police but had been refused due to insufficient evidence, and Ms. YOON herself had refused to accept the investigation and all the interviews.
As a result, all the leads could not be opened and the disappearance could not be pursued any further. At that time, the incident had had a great impact in South Korea, when it was suspected that the couple had been killed by Ms. Yoon, and when Mr. Kwon and Ms. Yoon had conspired to kill her wife, Ms. Choi, who had been the only one who had contacted her colleagues on the phone, it was difficult to determine whether the person who sent the message was Ms. Choi himself.
But these are also mere suspicions, because so far there has been no progress in this case, which is still defined as “a pending disappearance”.
