On 19 June 2025, Hubei Enshi was hit by heavy rains, which caused heavy flooding in urban streets. In such a harsh weather, two stray dogs clenched together, crumbling on a stairwell on the side of the road, heating each other and resisting the wind and rain. The scene was witnessed by the citizen, Mr. Wu, who came through here and decided to help.
Mr. Wu recalled that the rain was so heavy that it was less than 5 metres visible. When he drove by, he noticed the two close-knit dogs. Yellow doggies bury their heads in the neck of a black doggy, while black doggies protect each other with their front paws and reveal fear and helplessness in their eyes. Mr. Wu quickly opened the door, whispered, and eventually picked up two dogs.
In the car, Mr. Wu dryed them and provided them with food and water. He found an old wound in the right ear of the yellow puppy, while the black dog appeared to have a limp in his left back leg. Mr. Wu then contacted the pet hospital to examine and treat them.
Mr. Wu ' s good deeds were filmed and uploaded online, prompting attention. In the video, images of two dogs in a storm moved millions of people online. As the events fermented, more people began to pay attention to the survival of stray animals.
Today, two dogs, under the careful care of Mr. Wu, have gradually adapted to the new environment and become alive and healthy. Mr. Wu's story has also inspired more attention and participation in rescue operations for stray animals.
