In the early morning hours of 22 June 2025, a special “visiter” was received at the campus of the Shandong Air Academy — a national “triple” for the protection of wild animal crownfish dogs (Megaseryle Lugubris). This discovery, confirmed by the Quarter City Wildlife Monitoring Team, was the first video recording of the species in the region, marking a new breakthrough in biodiversity conservation.
The position was found in the waters east of the school library. According to the observation team, coronal dogs, because of their unique corsets and fishing habits, are commonly referred to as “Facefishers” and belong to rarer species of birds. The discovery not only enriched the list of birds in the city but also provided important data for the study of migratory routes of the species.

The Shandong Air Academy is located on the hinterland of the Yellow River Delta and is bounded to the west by the New River, providing an ideal habitat for wildlife with a unique geographical location.
