We need to know exactly what rabies are before we can explain the mortality rate of rabies. Literally, many people think rabies are actually a virus infected by a mad dog.

When the human brain is infected with the rabies virus, they spread out and eventually migrate to other organizations of the human body, especially saliva, where rabies can re-enter the next host.

Here we should note that rabies have a different period of incubation, determined by the location of the wound. Because some of the wounds are close to the central nerve and some are far from the central nerve, the longer the incubation period is natural.

Even worse, the rabies virus is still an immune virus. What does that mean?

For example, some people have a cold, even if they don't take a pill, just a little longer, because our own immune system will deal with these cold viruses.

But during the months of the rabies virus's incubation, they have many ways to escape from the human immune system. In other words, during the rabies' incubation, we saw nothing different.

And rabies can never be repaired once they reach the central nervous system. At that time, the patient will die after he/she has a temper, fear of light, fear of wind, fear of water, etc.

It takes 24 hours for rabies to devastate the central nervous system of the human body, and under current medical conditions we cannot eliminate rabies in such a short period of time without damaging the central nervous system of the human body, so in the event of rabies, the death rate is almost 100 per cent.

So how do we deal with these viruses?

There's only one way we can deal with rabies at the moment. Although rabies vaccine is available, the fear of rabies has been reduced considerably.

But one thing we need to know is that even rabies have a high risk of death. So after being bitten by animals and scratches, we're going to go to the hospital and get rabies. In particular, patients with wounds on their neck or face must be vaccinated against rabies as soon as possible.

It is worth noting that rabies have more than one path to infection.

There is a risk of infection when it comes to wounds like cats, dogs, foxes, etc. Persons with rabies may also be infected with their saliva through their own wounds. In addition, kissing animals can be infected with rabies.

Therefore, when you come into contact with animals in your daily lives, you must be careful about your safety, especially in families with animals, and you must give rabies to pets, such as cats and dogs, and trim their fingernails in time to prevent them from being scratched.

If animals are scratched or bitten, we should examine the wounds first, if it is just skin-breaking, as soon as possible, and go to the hospital for vaccination.

If the wound is bleeding, we need to extract the blood from the wound quickly, wash it for 15 minutes with a large amount of alkaline solution and rubbed up iodine or alcohol before proceeding to the hospital as soon as possible for treatment with rabies or rabies immune protein.

As we said before, rabies vaccine is not 100 per cent safe, and it does not guarantee that the virus will be completely killed or contained. Even worse, there are others who are allergic to rabies.

In addition, there is a risk of tetanus from animal bites or scratches, so we need to have tetanus vaccinations on medical advice, in addition to rabies.

Of course, some of the patients who are allergic to tetanus vaccine need to be vaccinated in fractions or choose the tetanus immuno-protein that does not need to be tested.

The rabies virus is terrible, but we need not be too worried as long as we are doing our daily protection. There is also no need to worry about pet families, who can be raised safely if they are vaccinated against rabies in a timely manner and protected.
