In Sheep City, there's a leading domestic dog training base - the Guangzhou police canine base. Established in 1953, it was one of the earliest and largest canine bases in the country. The main tasks are the training of canine trainers of the Armed Police Forces south of the Yangtze and operational, investigative and counter-terrorism tasks.
