On 3 July, the British Daily Mail reported that an Australian mechanic had been bitten by two 50-kilogram hounds from his client, that one of his arms had been ripped alive by a hound, and that his other arm, cheek and neck had been seriously injured.
About two weeks ago, a 43-year-old Brendan Clark repaired a car for a client in the front yard of a property in Coonamble, Midwest of New South Wales. When he was going to pick up something in a shed, he saw two hounds staring at him.
A moment later, a hound came to his left arm, another to his right arm, and Clark fought death.
He told the Newcastle Herald that two hounds had soon pushed him to the ground, and he realized that they were trying to kill him.
He said, "One of them went to my face -- it was going to bite my throat, but it bit me in the face."
“I realize that it was the main assailant. I grabbed the collar and held it tight. It started biting my arm, and I thought -- you can bite my arm, but you can't bite my throat."
Mr. Clark said that he once grabbed every dog's collar with his hand. At first, he tried to strangle them so that they could release his arms, but the hounds hurt him badly.
He said, "I can hear the sound of broken bones and the tearing of flesh."
"They're eating me alive."
Mr. Clark fought two hounds for an hour and a half before the owner came to help. The owner works in an office in the house.
However, it was not until the hounds pulled off the right arm of the mechanic alive.
This terrible torture put Clark in danger of death, and after his serious injuries, his body was seriously infected and he is still fighting death.
His friend Jamie Everett launched a chess fund to help mechanics raise medical fees. Everett told us that Clark was “always willing to help others and put himself at the end”.
He wrote on the fund-raising website: “A talented, skilled mechanic was attacked by two dogs while working in the driveway of a client”.
“Brundan, we love you, and we want to see you back in happy life. Medical treatment will be very expensive, let alone have to do everything with your left hand for a long time, so let's donate the money to this great man and his best companion.”
