Prior to the China Net Financial News, on June 4, the Consumer Report published 15 articles of the adult full price dog food product safety performance test, an indicator known to have been sent by the media to authoritative third-party inspection agencies in March 2021.
According to the results of the tests, the levels of lead were higher for the full-priced canine foods of the bean canine at all stages, and for the Bernardian pure and fresh series full-priced canine foods of 2.82 mg/kg and 2.19 mg/kg, respectively, with a standard limit of ≤5 mg/kg, while for the remaining 13 dogs the foods were below 0.7 mg/kg; for arsenic, the levels of 15 dog foods were below the standard limit value of 0.026 mg/kg ~0.34 mg/kg.
Public information indicates that lead is an accumulative toxicant with chronic toxic effects, i.e. small doses of continuous accumulation into pet objects and toxic effects that can cause salivation, abdominal pain, irritation and anaemia. Arsenic is one of the components of arsenic, and chronic poisoning of pets can result from long-term small exposures, possibly with red nostrils and mouth horns and symptoms such as swelling and epilepsy; if arsenic levels are high, they may be more manifested in chronic oral inflammation, haemorrhage of teeth, ulcer, etc. According to the GB/T 31216-2014 canine diet, the levels of lead and total arsenic should be 5 mg/kg and 2 mg/kg, respectively, for the full price of dog food in adulthood.
In terms of the total number of cases, three items of dog food, such as the full price of the dog in adult age, the full price of the canine food in adult age (no grain), and the full price of the canine food in McFudig, are relatively high, and are above 2000 CFU/g, although the standard GB/T 31216-2014 full price of pet food canine food is also met.
With regard to the content of vomiting toxin, a small amount of vomiting toxin was detected in the adult dog food at the full price of the wolf, with an indicator of 0.2 mg/kg (standard limit of ≤2 mg/kg), the only dog food to detect vomiting toxin. According to publicly available information, acute poisoning symptoms of vomiting toxins are stable standing, slow reaction, long hair, reduced appetite, vomiting, etc., and can also cause resistance from animals. Currently, the national standard for GB/T 31216-2014 full price pet food canine foods does not contain a limit on vomiting toxins; the Regulation on the Health of Petty Feeds issued by the Ministry of Rural Agriculture requires that the vomiting toxin content in dog foods should be 5 mg/kg.
In China, a searcher and searcher of the Chinese network found that the section detected a vomiting toxin with a 2.5-kg price of “all-cost adult dog food” of only $39.9, and that an additional 50 dog hams were sent below, at an average price of less than $8 per pound.
