In Texas, a postman named Barboza.
Because he likes dogs very much, he carries pet snacks every time he delivers a letter, and when he sees a dog, he throws it at him.
So he had a deep relationship with a lot of dogs.
Until 1 April, he received a special letter.
Barboza came with small snacks, as usual, but he didn't see a familiar dog, Gretchen, but found a pack of pet snacks in his mailbox and a letter:
"Gretchen passed away yesterday, and it asked me if you would like to give the snacks that it couldn't eat to the dogs along the way in the days ahead.
It looks forward to your presence every day, always at the door, happy enough to accept your snacks. Thank you very much.”
Barboza was so sad, he didn't think it was so sudden...
Gretchen, a German shepherd, was adopted by his master in 2013, but because of its previous abandonment, it does not trust all human beings.
Thanks to the care of the new master, it slowly dropped its guard.
However, it remained alert to strangers until it met the postman Barboza.
Barboza said: “Gretchen was very cold to himself at first, and he would not move even if he sent himself a snack.
But with more exposure and the temptation of small snacks...
Gretchen finally accepted himself.
Then it began to greet itself at the door, and we have built a deep friendship.”
Unfortunately, it all ended on 1 April.
He wants this to be a fool's day joke.
Barboza continues to travel through the streets to deliver mail and to feed all the dogs encountered with snacks.
However, unlike in the past, Barboza adds the following sentence each time she is fed:
"This is for the dog Gretchen."
