In recent days, the tragic death of a golden fur dog following a bath in a pet living house has attracted the attention of many petists, and the details disclosed by the dog owner have been a source of controversy. According to the owner of the dog, on the day of the incident he was sent to a local pet living house in good health for routine bathing. The agreement was made to go and pick up after washing, but during the waiting period, the staff of the living room were informed that the dog was in an abnormal state and had a weak physical response.
The dog owner, who was anxious to burn, immediately drove to the living room, but when he arrived, he was left with no vital signs, which caused him great grief. When communicating with the living room, the dog owner learned the details he could not accept: He considered that dogs had been subjected to harsh treatment in the shower and, more importantly, that staff had placed dogs in a dryer box alone for an hour and a half.
According to the owner of the dog, he was a gentle man with no basic disease in his family, and had received a number of treatments for pets, which had never been unusual. He suspects that the temperature and humidity in the oven may not have been regulated and that there is a lack of exclusive supervision in the closed environment for a prolonged period of time, leading to heat and oxygen shortages in the dog and eventually to death.
To date, the pet living facility has not responded publicly to the dog owner's allegations of “wrong treatment” and “drybox overtime”, nor has it disclosed the records of the laundry operation at that time (e.g. dryer box temperature setting, caregiver custody, etc.). The owner of the dog has considered identifying the cause of death of the dog in order to defend his or her interests by calling the police or commissioning an autopsy by an animal quarantine agency.
Following the fermentation of social platforms, a number of pets shared similar concerns and called on the pet service industry to strengthen its operational norms, clarify criteria such as the length of use of dry boxes, temperature control, and require institutions to provide real-time supervision by professionals to avoid similar tragedies.
