In the afternoon of 12 December, more than 70 high-ranking guests of the second Golden Panda Award walked into the Chengdu River Panda Valley and participated in the Golden Panda Awards side event, “I Face with Panda”. In a green-looking park, guests observe the natural state of life of the panda with curiosity and proximity, while at the same time gaining insight into Chinese scientific research and practical experience in the area of panda protection.

The French producer, Motel Samuel, bought a large bag of panda dolls on his trip, saying that the gifts were for the three daughters. In the face of a desolate panda, he was so excited to say, "Look at the panda, it's like magic."
United States director Dimitri Devereaux was the first to see a giant panda who, from a cultural perspective, interpreted its uniqueness. In his view, the black-and-white color of the panda is like a symbol of the sun, a picture of the plural integration of the world — a single white that looks like a polar bear, a single black that looks like a black bear — and the only thing that makes a big panda special.
When it comes to the key to cross-cultural resonance, Dimitri de Viatkin believes that the core lies in the sense of common humanity. He referred to the fact that the feelings shared by all humanity, be they the love of parents for their children or the love of individuals for their families and nations, were an important basis for building mutual understanding among nations.
The tour also included a multi-dimensional immersion cultural experience. There are guests in front of these projects, such as print development, wooden carvings, and SONG Dynasty Tea. Through hands-on operations, you can visualize the pictogramal, vivid cultural elements of the panda. Serbian director Boris Mitik, after experience, highly recognized the glamour of the panda. He felt that no matter how large pandas appeared, the unique sense of silence was rare to convey warmness, peace, tranquillity and friendship.

The Golden Panda Award has collected 5343 films from 126 countries and territories, of which 73.2 per cent are foreign. The rich stock of works provides a strong support for cross-cultural collisions and integration. Brazilian director Natalia Freitas took part in the Golden Panda Award to focus more on the role of video in intercultural communication. In her view, various types of video work can generate a resonance of cultures, at the heart of the “story-telling” process, which in itself is the key to linking. Taking as an example an animated series of her own, she hopes to convey indigenous cultural elements through images that will enable Chinese audiences to reach out to Brazilian culture.
It is known that the Golden Panda Award is held every two years and is permanently held in Sichuan. Since its inception, the Award has been designed to bring together outstanding images and to build a platform for multi-dimensional dialogue. It has been gaining influence and is gradually becoming a globally recognized cultural brand.
Boris Mitik is looking forward to the future development of the Golden Panda Award. He stressed that the special features of the Golden Panda Award could not be separated from the place where it took place - There is a unique attraction for pandas, food and deep historical roots, ranging from film production to the exchange of cultural ideas, an excellent platform for connecting the world to China. In his view, the world and China were gathered in Chengdu on the stage of the Golden Panda Award, a platform that would grow and grow in the future.
