In recent days, as a result of heavy rainfall, a crocodile farm in the northern border village of the Moe Nam district of Guangdong city, parts of the wall have collapsed as a result of flooding and parts of the area have swam. Following the incident, the local agricultural, emergency, public security, fire and other specialized forces quickly carried out a search for fleeing crocodiles. After four days of search, 62 crocodiles have been caught.
In the afternoon, the station ' s journalists saw that nearly 70 per cent of the pond water in the crocodile farm had been drained and that the staff on the ground were conducting searches using acoustic detectors, drones and man-made nets to take stock of the remaining numbers of crocodiles in the site.
According to the rural agricultural sector, the farm had 71 crocodiles, 69 adult crocodiles and two young crocodiles of Siamese origin. Currently, the local rural agriculture, emergency response, public security and fire services have jointly increased their search capabilities, further expanded their search coverage and secured areas such as the northern border villages and the lake waters of Peng. Through increased publicity, district, street and village cadres have called on villagers along the routes to be advised not to approach and step into the besieged areas.
By 3120, 62 crocodiles, 60 adult crocodiles and 2 juvenile crocodiles had been caught and the search was still ongoing.
