In recent days, a “Seminar on the development of a great health industry for pets and veterinary medicines” was organized by the Guangzhou Animal Pharmacy Company Ltd. in collaboration with the Agricultural Economic Research Branch of the China Institute for Construction of Small Cong. The conference, which focused on the theme “Eco-Innovation for the Future in a Co-Facilitative Industry”, brought together experts from relevant ministries, the Guangdong Academy of Agricultural Sciences, the Veterinary School of the University of Agriculture in China, and representatives of industry associations and industry-head enterprises to inject dynamic and innovative energy into the quality development of the pet industry.
According to the most recent data, the size of China ' s pet health market reached 84.06 billion yuan in 2024, accounting for 28 per cent of the total pet economy, and is expected to reach hundreds of billions in 2025, totalling 1087 billion yuan. Patient medicine is a strategic industry “to meet people's needs for a better life”, closely linked to the ageing of society and the deepening emotional needs of young groups. Industry needs to improve competitiveness through science, technology and innovation, while at the same time improving regulations to match new business developments.
As a representative of the national pet pharmaceutical industry, the Vinoe Animal Pharmacy demonstrated the innovative results of integrated production, marketing and research. It has more than 150 pet health products covering areas such as deworming, skin care, nutrition and health, and has broken through high-throughput screening techniques and automated production processes through the establishment of R & D centres with higher education institutions such as Chinese agriculture. It is based in Guangdong, covering the entire country and looking globally.
The experts called for the establishment of innovative mechanisms for vertical integration, such as promoting the scale application of synthetic biology in the field of veterinary medicine and drawing on the experience of a ton-class synthetic veterinary base in the new coastal zone. At the same time, there is a need to improve the Veterinary Training System for Practice and to close the gap with international certification.
There was consensus that the pet health industry was not only a new point of economic growth but also a sign of progress in social civilization. Future supply upgrades, driven by technological innovation, are needed to improve regulations to guarantee quality security and ultimately to realize the vision of “human healing”. As policies, capital and technology advance, China is expected to move from being a follower to a rule maker in the global pet health market.
At the seminar, experts highly valued the pet health industry as a new engine of economic growth and as a symbol of the progress of social civilization. The leading domestic industry enterprise, represented by the Vinoe Animal Pharmacy industry, has driven industrial technological upgrading through an integrated and innovative model of production, marketing and research, which, in its overseas configuration, is based on development planning in Guangdong, the radiation nation and the global outlook, setting the bar for the international development of the industry. Driven by the Science and Technology+Policy+ Ecology, progress towards normativeization, intellectualization and globalization is being accelerated to provide better-quality health solutions for pet families and to assist in the expansion of the Healthy China strategy.
