Today, Shenzhen's public welfare rescue team completed a transnational rescue mission during the Mandalay earthquake in Myanmar, which successfully rescued nine survivors with a search dog, Flash. The team operates for seven consecutive days in the aftershocks using advanced equipment such as thermal imager and the life detector.
The Shenzhen Public Service Rescue Team has completed a rapid assessment of 42 workspaces, conducted 26 internal searches and 11 detachments; rescued 2 survivors, assisted in the removal of 5 bodies of the victims and disposed of 3 wounded and wounded on the ground; conducted medical visits to the disaster victims ' sites in coordination with the Chinese relief teams, treating 11 persons and distributing 380 medicines; and, during the course of the operation, the Shenzhen rear information centre arranged 402 round-the-clock visits to provide technical support to the front line.
The training data for rescue dogs, “Molniya”, which identify the person under pressure by smell, show a 92 per cent accuracy in positioning in complex environments.
This operation is the first time that Chinese social emergency forces have been involved in international relief efforts, pushing China Relief into the world. Rescue team leader Li Ming revealed that the team is developing the AI Auxiliary Search and Rescue System, which is planned to be operational by 2026.
