On 25 July, Tae-hyun, Jiangsutai State, and the Yangtze Police, together with the agricultural and rural sector, successfully intercepted a vehicle that had illegally transported cats, saving over 900 cats. The cat count includes both stray cats and suspected family cats with collars around their necks. The cats were taken to the stray animal rescue centre for emergency treatment because of prolonged periods of dehydration, stress and injuries in an inhaled environment.
After treatment, the majority of cats have gradually recovered. A preliminary investigation by the police into the alleged shipment of animals without a quarantine certificate by the driver was further investigated. The Center stated that adoption would be opened until the cat had completed the vaccination and called on citizens to go and claim the lost pet if they found it.
According to the information received, these cats were received by the Nanjing Vagrant Animal Support Centre, whose certified account number had been written that the estate was under pressure and received cats, but that manpower, materials and premises were beyond carrying capacity. The trauma of the cat is being dealt with, and some of the cats have completed amputations and are recovering. “In the coming week, injuries will be widespread and undoubtedly a great test.”
What's the follow-up? On 29 July, the staff of the relief centre indicated that some of the cats had suffered more severe amputations. Medical supplies are currently scarce and volunteers with medical experience are required. "Somebody's here to claim it. Two cats have found their master."
