3 saved by Typhoon Yulin Fire Search and Rescue Dog: Fury Child Soldiers running with Time

A few days ago, Typhoon Butterfly landed in Guangxi and the town of Sapo in Ruegawa County was suddenly covered by heavy rain. Huang Zaiqing, a trainee in the Yulin Fire Search and Rescue Dogs class, took the 8-year-old Malinua dog “96” to the front line. On the ruins of the collapsed people, “96” suddenly stopped, with its front claws scratching wildly, and its throat swollen. “It almost reached the ground with its tail, a typical warning signal.” Huang Zaiqing immediately called for backup, and the team broke the wood closet with hydraulic pressure and found three grandkids trapped in a narrow space for 27 hours.

This is not the first time that “96” has worked. During the earthquake in Turkey in 2023, it worked for 17 consecutive hours and rescued 5 survivors from the rubble. The trainer, Wang Seamount, remembers that the claws of the 96 were strangled in blood by the steel, but still stuck to work, "The look in his eyes tells me there is still life to save."

At the end of the search and rescue, “96” was sent to the pet hospital for examination and the doctor found that its earways had been infected by the rain. But only three days later, the dog appeared again on the training grounds, travelling through simulated ruins in preparation for the next rescue.
