The 12th World Games are taking place in Sichuan Chengdu, a city of dynamism with athletes and tourists from all over the world. In many places, Chengdu's panda breeding research base has become a “necessary option” in the minds of foreign friends, and many people have said, “The first stop to Chengdu must be to look at the panda!”
Into the base, in the mackerel booth, the presence of the Gable Panda is visible, forming a vivid picture. Some pandas are lazily lying on the trees, enjoying the afternoon sun, and the rolling bodies rise and fall with their breath; others are scrambling with fresh bamboo, and the sound of cuddly chewing echoes in the forest; and several cubs are chasing fun in the grass, and their clumsy moves lead to crowds laughing. Lily, an American tracker who kept filming with her camera, was excited to say, "Looking at the pandas on television a million times, they're living today, they're cuter than they thought!"
How can this be the preferred of foreign friends? Apart from the “top” charm of the panda itself, the purposeful design of the base is also important. Not only does the park have an ecological environment that simulates wild habitats, comforting large pandas, but it also has multilingual interpretation cards and interactive areas. Through VR technology, tourists can “enter” the world of pandas and learn about their growth. According to Pierre, a tourist from France: “It is a very special experience not only to see pandas, but also to learn more about their protection stories.”
According to the base staff, the number of foreign visitors received on a daily basis during the World Wide Conference was nearly 30 per cent higher than at the same time. As a shining business card for Chengdu, the panda, with its unique charisma, is conveying to the world the friendship and vitality of this city as a warm bond linking different cultures.
