On 24 August, journalists were informed by the official Wetland National Park of Suzhou that the panda “spring” and “New Moon” had returned from Suzhou to Sichuan on the same day and were staying at the Tujiang base of the China Centre for the Protection of the Great Panda.
“The new moon” is the female panda, born at the walnut field training base of the China Centre for the Protection of the Great Panda. Born on 17 July 2002, it has a very quiet personality and has successfully bred three panda cubs. The New Month was born on 14 August 2003 and was sexually active. On 7 September 2011, “Bruney Panda” and “New Month” set out from the Yaan base of the Centre for the Study and Research of the Great Panda of China, where they have lived and lived in Suzhou's National Wetlands Park, with citizens of Suzhou for almost 14 years.
In response to Suzhou's deep-seated friendship with two large pandas, Suzhou Lake National Wetlands Park organized a birthday party for New Moon and Bamboo, which was the last birthday in Suzhou. In a letter to citizens, Suzhou's National Wetlands Park states that it will continue to maintain close contact with the base in the future, focusing on the health and state of the “New Moon”, and regularly arranges visits to Sichuan by the “nearing mothers” who have taken careful care of the “Sky Moon”.
