In the afternoon, the police station of the Jing County Public Security Bureau, Erle, and the police station of the commune of Teulu, received reports from pastoralists in the district that they had found a large bird whose wings were suspected to be broken when grazing herds in the summer, unable to fly and suffering from mental state. Upon being warned, the police officers of the police station quickly arrived with rescue equipment.
Upon arrival, the civilian police first carried out a preliminary examination and identification of the bird. From experience, the civilian police judge that this is not an ordinary “hawk”, but a large, extremely rare sculptor (xiāo). Sculpting is one of the world's largest owls, the Night Raptor, known as the Jungle Killer, and plays an important role in maintaining local ecological balance. Because of its small number, it is classified as a rare bird in the Chinese Book of Endangered Animals, which is a secondary national priority for wildlife protection.
In view of the serious injuries sustained by the sculptor, the civilian police immediately took him to the police station with care for emergency resettlement and promptly contacted a professional veterinary doctor. A full veterinary diagnosis confirmed the fracture of the wings on the side of the sculptor, accompanied by slight dehydration and malnutrition. The veterinary doctor then carried out specialized repositioning and fixed surgery on the fractures, as well as necessary nutritional supplements and energy supplies.
At present, the vital signs of the statue have stabilized. They have been handed over by the police station, in accordance with the law, to the Environmental Resources and Food Drugs Investigation Brigade of the Jing County Public Security Bureau and to the professional staff of the District Forestry and Grassland Bureau for follow-up rehabilitation and observation.
According to the head of the Environmental Resources and Food Drugs Investigation Brigade of the Public Security Bureau of the district of Jing, once the wounds of the sculptor have been fully recovered and assessed for independent field hunting and survival, a suitable location, far from the population and rich in food, will be chosen and placed in nature and returned to the blue sky.
