Let's get a new record! The 5 days of the APA show attracts more than 520,000 people

According to statistics, the 27th Asian pet show attracted more than 130,000 professional viewers, 390,000 pet lovers, more than 2600 exhibitors, and 310,000 square metres of exhibition sizes were re-recorded, creating an overall boost to diversity and dynamism in the pet industry.

The high temperature that prevailed in Shanghai during the Asia-Pacific exhibition, and the crowds in and out of the exhibition, gave confidence in the strong resilience and development prospects of the pet industry across the economic cycle. This year's exhibition, in addition to the emergence of innovations in traditional pet foods, supplies, health care, new trends and new forces in such sectors as functional foods, pet foods, smart technology, travel and human support for symbiotic life, has grown in size, number of exhibitors, an ecological revolution that integrates the dynamic pet industry with the depths of multi-industry, breathes life into the domestic pet economy, and expands open possibilities and imagination for the future of the pet industry, feeding on the new era of symbiotic energy.

However, the pet industry is still an emerging industry, and much more needs to be done. During the Adolescence, there was a reflection of the poor consideration of animal welfare by individual exhibitors, such as large-scale dog tattoos and the sharing of a cage by multiple animals. In response, APA expressed great concern that “as a super-large exhibition with 310,000 square metres, 2,600 exhibitors and 520,000 viewers, we have emerged some new and old issues in the process of delivering services and experiences to exhibitors and viewers. Over the past few days, we have heard feedback and recommendations from a wide range of sources of public enthusiasm, and we have been thinking about how to strengthen management and improvement, and these eager expectations will be the driving force behind us to confront and improve the way forward.”

It is understood that next year's Asia-Pacific Fair will focus on optimization in terms of, first, investing in the visiting experience of professional days and, second, strengthening the management of exhibitors and safeguarding the welfare of animals. In 2026, it will launch a series of improvements: the first day of the exhibition will be the “Day of Large Buyers/Big Customers/Professional Buyers”, where the audience will be invited only to provide a more purely commercial trading environment and atmosphere for exhibitors and professional audiences. At the same time, more stringent standards and means will be used to regulate displays of exhibitors involved in the violation of pet-friendly objects, and to firmly resist situations such as the display of live deposits (the withholding of non-compliant deposits will donate animal public goods organizations) in the form of multiple “assembly fists” in which the exhibitors and vehemently sold pets, a cage of pets, and canine and cat sales; in cases where irregularities occur, priority positions will be removed, positions will be reserved and positions will be cancelled. We are determined to combat all acts and phenomena that are unfriendly to pets.

The next Asia-Pacific Fair was held at the New International Fair in Shanghai from 19 to 23 August 2026. The organizers indicated that they would work with exhibitors to call attention to pet welfare and to strengthen industry self-regulation and self-regulation. The sponsors will strengthen management and take effective measures to work together to create a health platform for the industry, which will bring more positive push and vibration to industry development.
